  1. Hi
I am a third year OT student in Leicestershire, England. I am looking to introduce CMOP-E to this setting with no previous Occupational Therapy input. I am looking to introduce COPM as it seems like the most appropriate standardised assessment tool to use within the setting. How much is it to purchase the manual and paperwork please and get me started? Is there any way that I can get an example free of charge? Do you offer copies to Universities?

    1. Hello Louise,
Thank you for your interest in the COPM. It will be a good tool to use when introducing the CMOP-E to a new setting. Please be sure to read over our Case Studies that are posted on the website under “The COPM in Use”.
The COPM is sold by the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists. You can click on the yellow “buy” button on our website or visit https://www.caot.ca/store/SearchResults.aspx?searchterm=copm&searchoption=ALL for details about pricing. Be sure that you purchase both the manual and the forms. Unfortunately, we are not able to offer sample versions or free copies for Universities.
Please feel free to contact us with further questions.

      1. Hi,
in our readaptation center in Quebec, we are using the MCRO (in french). We heard about the new MCREO model, with empowerment notions, and we would like to know if the last version of the measure include this new part of the model.
        Thank you for the info.

        1. Hi Catherine,

Thank you for your question about the French version of the COPM. The fifth edition of the COPM is compatible with the CMOP-E and we have included a discussion about this in the new manual. Please write back if you have further questions.

  2. Hi, I’m an OT student. I want to know the strengths and weakness of COPM in terms of validity and realibilty. Thanks!

    1. Hi Jowee,

Thank you for your question about the psychometric properties of the COPM. The COPM is a reliable, valid outcome measure that can be used in many different clinical settings. We have written a brief summary addressing this topic. It can be found under the tab “The COPM in Use”. Here is the link: https://www.thecopm.ca/casestudy/psychometric-properties-of-the-copm/. For more details, you can refer to the COPM manual or look through our list of references to find articles that have evaluated the reliability and validity of the COPM – https://www.thecopm.ca/learn/references/. We hope this is helpful!
